The Team
Andrea Kopp
eBike Advisor, Sales & Purchasing Lead
Andrea is passionate about how bicycles improve our lives. With over ten years’ bike industry experience, Andrea is happy to help you find your perfect bike and answer almost any bike question you may have. When not in the shop Andrea enjoys all kinds of cycling for fun – mountain biking and gravel especially. As a full-time bike commuter, you’ll also see him on his Class 3 eBike – getting stuff done twice as fast and saving the legs for the fun stuff.
Mike Ahern
Owner
Mike is a life-long cyclist who particularly enjoys riding in our local forests. Mike and his wife raised four children and now with quite a few seasons in the rear view mirror he may not charge up (or down) the hill as quickly as he used to. Yet eBikes equalize things so almost any group of riders can ride together and that’s fun.
Brad Whipp
Mechanic
After getting hooked on trail riding as a teenager, the bike became a regular part of Brad’s lifestyle – using it for both commuting and frequent recreation for over 30 years. A dedicated bike commuter, Brad also especially enjoys gravel and road riding in his free time. When not building and servicing bikes, Brad enjoys gardening, programming and hanging with his pet cat Poof.
Anthony Lester
Operations Manager
At age 8, Anthony received his first bike. He took to mountain biking in high school and that remains one of his favorite ways to enjoy bicycling. Over his many years in the bike industry, he has performed just about every role in a bike shop, making him well suited to ensure our operation meets its commitments and runs smoothly. At home Anthony gets to spend time with his veterinarian wife and two dogs – Darla and Iggy Pop.
Mimi Ahern
Co-owner & CAO
Mimi has worked in marketing, in education, raised a family and now works with non-profits. Over the years since the formation of Current eBikes Mimi has been there, typically behind the scenes, providing a guiding presence and support 7 days a week.
Steve Hess
Mechanic
A bike rider for over a half century, Steve has prodigious bike knowledge and technical skills and has employed them in local shops, component manufacturers and as a school instructor. While raising their family, Steve and his wife continue to commute by bike. Steve enjoys just about every biking discipline – road, cross, gravel, and mountain and competed in all of them over the years. Rightly proud of his 19 Death Ride Finisher Pins, Steve can offer you some tips about distance riding. When not at the shop or riding one of his many bikes Steve takes care of their little fury and feathered friends.
Zackary Wallace
Mechanic
Zackary started riding bikes before kindergarten. Like many of us, he used his used his bike to get to school. Today, you can find Zackary riding across the county to visit family in South County or running some long loops in our local mountains. Zackary has been working on bikes professionally since 2017 and has a special knack for troubleshooting the tough problems. When not out riding Zackary enjoys building fast computers on which to play video games.
